TSA Officials Are Re-Screening Passengers
LINTHICUM, Md. --
The Maryland Transportation Authority says a section of Baltimore-Washington Airport was evacuated this morning, after a baggage-screener spotted a knife in a carry-on backpack at a checkpoint.
Police said the owner walked away with the backpack while screeners searched the wrong bag. Because Transportation Authority police couldn't find the passenger, they had to evacuate Pier D.
Now all Pier D passengers are being re-screened.
Officials at BWI are suggesting travelers allow 90 minutes to make their flight this morning.
