Was it very expensive? The food and what not? And were there many foreigners there?\
It was my first time there, but it is a pretty well known spot. Right now it is low season, so the prices reflect that, I`m sure they go up X2 when it`s busy, anyway this time of the year for an all you can eat Brazilian BBQ you would pay around 10 USDs, at the seafood restaurants a plate for two with sides would run you 25-30 USD. There are many bars, average for a drink is 5-7 USDs. Clubs like the Pacha are crazy expensive 60+ USD entry fee. I dunno how much hotels are but there are a huge amount of BBs, many are right on the beach, most of those little house by the water are in fact BBs, the town is built over a peninsula, on one side you have the calm bays and on the other side it opens up to the Atlantic, beaches there are totally different and the ocean really rough, but awesome for surfing.
Most of the tourism is made up by foreigns, mainly Argentinians, there are some Americans and Europeans too. Brazilians go there usually during the festivities: X-Mass, Easter,...
I would say it`s just as expensive as any other tourist location of Brazil, but with much higher standards, it`s very clean and there is no crime.
Those are the Atlantic Beaches:
