I'm not sure who posted the question about how to get over the fear about checkrides post above. However, I'll say that the biggest thing I ever did to start passing checkrides was employing more commandability. I read this cheap looking book about how to pass checkrides and it really had a lot of great information in it. The author basically said that the biggest thing an examiner sp? is looking for is commandability. Which is really just taking responsibility for your plane and crew. For me it was less doing certain actions and more coming in with the attitude that I was in control of this situation.
So, I went from busting my private and instrument to passing my commercial multi, commercial single and my Initial MEI. I still messed up things on all of these checkrides but I tried to be less hesitant and more in control of the situation. I'm not sure if this helped or not. Then again sometimes I just think that the easter bunny gave me my ratings. On any given day any one of us could have a good or a bad flight. Just hope you have your good flights on the checkride days...lol
