Business Aviation Recruiting

Hi.

As I read in other posts, getting a job in business aviation is hard, especially as employers (e.g. charter airlines or corporate flight departments) seem to fill the positions through their existing network.

However, companies like Jet Professionals or JSfirm offer the service to place aviation personnell into the business aviation industry. What are the chances of finding a job through those companies? Is it useful sending your resume to them?

Also, does anybody know about other large business aviation recruiting companies or has some general tips about that industry? And how does the industry look like in Europe?

Concerning Europe, I got one more question: Which countries are big in business aviation?

OK, lots of questions, hope you are experts...

Thanks a lot in advance.

Sorry, not many of us business pilots on here I guess.

The isn't really a market for business aircraft recruitment. Corporate departments are very small compared to airline ranks. Airlines field 8-9000 pilots. A large corporate dept is lucky to have 100. Most have 10 or less. There is also very little turnover. When there is, they only have to fill 1 slot at a time. As opposed to an airline that might hire 100 per month.

That's why it is about who you know, and being in the right place at the right time. I live in a large city, and I'm lucky to see a handfull of ads per year.

PS...I've never heard of Jet Professionals or JSfirm.

I see a bunch of corp/bizav job postings on NBAA airmail every week. I can forward you some of those, if you're interested

Are you talking about Jet Professionals out of MLB? Melbourne FL?

I don't remember much, but a little red light is going off for some reason...

I'll post anything if I can find it.
