busiest ATP locations

What are the busiest ATP locations in terms of instructors building hours and where are the CFI schools located?

To my knowledge... the CFI programs are at LAS, ATL, JAX. When I went through they used to have SAC as an option... but I don't think it is anymore.

Hours wise... JAX is probably number 1, followed by DFW, and then probably a tie with ATL and PHX. But... Any location that has career pilots will keep you busy. The single instructor locations can either be Insanely busy... or Super slow... it's hit and miss. Most of those locations are near Military bases... so if you get a good rep doing ATP's for the military guys and gals... then they will tell two friends, who will tell two friends, and so on... and so on... next thing you know... it's hard to keep up!

There was a time when you went to Bowling Green to rack up the hours as an instructor. Don't know if that's still true or not.

Just finished up all of my cross countries... and i have to say, hands down... Phoenix is the busiest location.

SDPilot are you doing the 90 program? I would like to talk to you if you are...I will send you a PM with my number or vice versa if you dont mind???

We were just figuring out numbers a few days ago. My guy is averaging 65 hours a month flight time as an add-on instructor at Jax. I know that Jax is one of the busier locations. I'm not sure how doing add-ons compares to teaching privates or career students as far as flight time accumulated. What's not included in the 65 hours/month is the approx. 1.5 hours time spent on the ground with the student for each hour of flight.

Private instructors stay pretty busy. Not to sure about career instructors.

I was in JAX last week on XCs. There are 11 instructors at CRG. While I was there they didn't seem too busy - some even had days off :). There are currently 13 instructors in Phoenix, and they're all working their butts off.

Private instructors can get lots of hours - over 100 / month is possible, but probably not sustainable (burn out :insane:). Multi instructors get fewer - I'd guess about 60 in a good month.

In Dallas, the private classes are bigger (8 students) than in Phoenix (6 students, I think), and the offices seem bigger and nicer than CRG or PHX. I didn't see a list of instructors, but there were fewer planes on the ramp than in Phoenix.

Phoenix is also a location where you can go to CFI school.

If an add-on guy at JAX is only getting 65 hours a month, he's not trying.

I had no trouble sustaining 100/month there.

Also, got 90-100 hours/month at ATL when I moved up there.

If you go to a CFI location, there's TONS of hours in training that can be done to finish up the CFI guys, if you're willing to put in the time. I found that there were all too many people that didn't want to work that hard, which left lots of time available for the more motivated.

I'd have to say JAX was far and away the most busy location when I was there and there was definitely TONS of time for the SE guys. ATL and DFW were second, but PHX wasn't a CFI location at that time.

Just my experience, your mileage may vary.

Im almost done with my cross country phrase, and PHX was by far the busiest location Ive been to. A lot of privates here.
