Building Private Airport

Thinking about putting in a private strip. Called AOPA and tried to get the airport development packet but they don't have have any more copies and didn't scan it. Was Wondering if any one one here might have a copy.

Check with your states Aviation Department, they usually have materials and information on that kind of thing.

All you need is a bulldozer and a roller. If it's your land, I don't think there is much that can be done.

Much more involved than just that.

I'll see what if I can find any information for you. I worked for a company that had a private 5800' x 85 paved runway. Just long enough for the G550 to make it to Paris out of TX.

Step #1, fill this out and submit to the FAA. Then wait 30 days before you even bring a shovel on site.

Step #2, contact a local attorney and ask them what the legal issues you may have to deal with are. Every state will have different laws. Every county will have different laws, and every city will have different laws.

P.S. If done right, all you need is a dozer and a roller;). I should have been more clear with my origonal post
