Breastfeeding F9 Pilots Want Privacy at Work

Nah. Not scared of teh boobehs. I'm more scared of the immediate reaction of PC and having to immediately support these chicks without thinking of any future consequences and how it affects the rest of us. Judicially this isn't going anywhere anyway. They can either 1. Just by milk at the store. Or 2. Take a FMLA and use that. Don't be suing already financially strapped airlines and spoiling it for the rest of us.

I notice that "female equality" in the professional realm always means the adjudication of a reduction in standards....

"funny that"
This made me snort-laugh.

Is a humor post, yes? Like, "Lemme pretend I'm one of those people...Check it, this is how they sound, for real."

No, that's not what we're saying at all. Women can have both. But it's up to the individual woman to make it work, not demand that their employer accommodate their desires.
What we need is for the men to be the breastfeeders - then the accommodations would be in place within a month, no questions. (When men need things, they're seen as less "silly" or "unnecessary" or "girly-problems," see. When a man needs it, we know it's a REAL issue, one that goes without saying. Like boner problems.)

Which lawsuit is asking for all of those things?

All of them are either asking for them or stating them as a reason for what are asking for. I would quote them, but my internet is currently down (power outage).

Due to my close proximity to the company and the individuals involved, I plan to keep my involvment in this discussion at arms-length. I am curious to know what accomodations other airlines provide compared to F9.

He can scroll up and look at the links to each complaint. :p There is no need to quote anything, just look at the actual attachments, or go to the ACLU website where they are clearly posted. I haven't researched what airlines, if any, provide any accommodations, but I would have to assume that none of them do for pilots, otherwise, those would have been referred to in the actual complaints. I did look at the 100 best companies for working mothers, and zero airlines came up. It isn't easy being a girl...specifically a wife or mother at an airline.

In short, they're mentioned in points "46" and beyond in SK's filing. The subsequent filings pretty much repeat the same points.

Oh no, because since I don't have kids, I really don't want people looking at my stuff.

"Ladies, my eyes are HERE!"

Alls I can say is, y'all ladies that are nursing/pumping while flying full time have my mad respect. My wife, who is an absolutely amazing superwoman and wonderful mother to our daughter, was doing well if the house was still standing and she was out of pajamas for most of that phase.

Yes sir. Humor. And thanks for appreciating it! At the same time I wanted to man-up this thread a little. I mean a bunch of dudes fighting over who's the biggest expert on breast pumping? Come on fellas. :)

It's not that we are arguing. It's very simple, the ACLU has an agenda, they want equality except for ------, fill in the blank. They don't care if a lawsuits results in your lost of your job or your company going under. The ACLU will not accept anything other then te getting what they asked for in these suites. The company will do the math and see that they will lose. But answer me this ... Why must my pay raise or my seniority be affected by the few who want to be special?

Why do you think you're special enough to get a pay raise or seniority when your coworkers can't get equality?

So the money to make these people happy will cost the other nome affective class money. So if a company spends $2 million on these bathrooms, where does that money come from. Second, if you are 1 number senior to any of these people and you wanted all flights less then 2 hours, you should get it over them, but now they get it . See my point. Equality is only equal if no one wants to be treated special. Now, for paid maturity, that is easy to give to all. Or paid FMLA, either way.

As an FYI, men are eligible for FMLA for birth of a child. Bill used like 4 weeks FMLA for each of the kids when they were born.

I don't know what BFing FAs do. I don't remember in 7 years actually noticing.. but then again this was before-kids for me so it wasn't really something I was seeking out or actively researching.

Yes, FMLA. But they are asking for paid leave. Which is great, because everyone can win with that. But what do the people that don't need it get ?
