Branchial Cyst

Cessnaflyer

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Woo Hoo I got a cyst :(

After 6 hours of blood, throat swabs and the last one a CT scan with contrast they found out the lump in my neck is a branchial cyst. I meet with an ENT on Friday where I believe they still have to do a biopsy. I'm not totally sure though.

How long is the recovery for this type of surgery?

I'm lucky it's not as bad, buy I have to get a cyst removed from my ear lobe. That's gonna be fun with the headset!

Hope all goes well with the surgery!

Is it a sebaceous cyst? If so I had one about the size of a quarter removed from my left temporal area about 2 weeks ago.

They gave me a local and used a scalpel and pretty much popped it like a zit. No real biggie!

It's the size of a golf ball. :(

Looking at the CT it is up against my jugular and corroded artery. I'm going to another doctor in the Seattle area to see if they have time to fit me in. Then it's around 5 days with a drain pinned to me. I guess no snow fun for me most of december.

:rotfl:

Are you a robot? You may want to get your corroded artery galvanized to prevent any more rust. I'm just messing with you, I know you meant the carotid artery. I couldn't pass this up as it made me laugh out loud. Good luck with the surgery/removal, I hope you'll be back quickly.

That thing on the right side of the picture, right? It sure does look big. Again, I meant no dis-respect on that earlier, just trying to brighten your day. I'm sure it will all go well, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hey again doc. I got it successfully removed a few days ago but there is some nerve damage that the surgeon said will go away soon. I need to renew my medical now what should I bring with me to the examiner?
