Feel free to delete the thread if need be. I'm visiting some family on vacation and I've become a bit of a microbrew connoisseur if you will. I would love to take some of my local stuff for them to try. Is this frowned upon if in uniform. Obviously none of this will be opened until I'm there on vacation. I see flight attendants bringing back bottles of champagne from France all the time.

Acceptable or no?

I dont

There's nothing that says you can't from what I remember.

I don't like going near any booze in uniform but I've seen pilots and FAs do it all the time. Maybe talk to your Chief Pilot. You could always risk going in regular clothes and carrying it through and hope they don't pull you over for random screening.

Nothing wrong with it all, I often bring good wines & beer home that I've found on the road. Just keep it in your bag from the public eye while in uniform. No Super Liquor Mega Mart bags hanging from your roller.

I've been pulled for screening with booze in the bag (and out of uniform). They didn't even blink, just looked under it, smiled, said have a nice day.

Oh also in light of this thread, happy IPA Day everyone

Just keep in mind if you are selected for random screening the regular passenger liquid requirements apply if you are not in uniform. So no issue at all if you wear your uniform. Change after you get through if you really don't want to travel that way.

I've brought all manner of beer & wine home through KCM in uniform including the random searches and never caught any grief over it. I was selected when I had a couple bottles of Cuban rum and was told the next time I'd better bring some to share...so I wouldn't sweat it too much.
