Bonanza under the Eiffel Tower

According to Wiki and this page this Bonanza was flown by a guy name Robert J. Moriarty who claims to have been the youngest F4 pilot in the Vietnam War at the age of 20. How is that possible? I was under the impression that by the time one earns their 4 year degree and completes pilot training they come out of the pipeline aged into their mid twenties.

It's certainly not unheard of. I would think less so now, but there were cases of enlisted folks ending up as pilots in the past. I just had a long discussion with a retired Colonel about this and he said there were definitely cases of it occurring due to various circumstances but certainly not a normal thing.
