Bonanza down in Telluride, kills all three on board.

There are things I'd like to say, history tells us the major cause of most accidents, but we shouldn't speculate with no information. RIP to the three on board.

To everyone on here, it's just another example that it can happen to anyone (no matter what the cause), regardless of experience. Keep that in your minds, not in the back, but in the front.

Why does everyone keep playing the "it could happen to anyone of us. Experience, experience, experience." I'll take my lumps with this comment. No amount of experience says it's wise to operate an airplane like that in conditions like those. They should have never been there in the first place.

Edit to add: if there's precip, it's below freezing, and you don't have the ability to shed the ice, stay on the ground. I don't know if icing caused this, but in ANY book, that's a recipe for disaster.

Because we don't know what actually happened.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't be saying "it could happen to any of us" if we KNEW the causes, and KNEW they took off into such conditions. If they did that, they were being plain stupid.

We do know what the took off into. But we don't know why they didn't make it. And for me, the result of the accident has no bearing on my thought of "they took of in THOSE conditions? That was foolish."

Meh, half the freight dawgs on this board probably operate in worse at least once a week. But god favors the fearless. ;)

I used to operate a twin piston flying pax in worse. But the airplane was destined to handle it. I did a few flights in a Metro in worse, but again, it was built to handle it. A Bonanza on the other hand... TKS is meant to be used to escape the conditions, not operate continuously in it.

I get the freight dawg mentality and your sarcasm, it just wasn't a fair comparison even sarcastically.
