Bonanza down at KMGY

RIP.

I'm guessing the pilot had engine trouble and he tried to turn around to make the runway. This is why they teach us to land straight ahead.

Again, RIP to the pilot and the passenger.

Yeah, he declared and tried to circle back. Not gonna try to MMQB it too much, but it sounds that way.

Ugh right next to my home airport, weird you see all these accidents that are nowhere near you, and then this. RIP.

They were coming here to KDPA to pick up the other daughter for Spring Break. She was sitting here when she got the phone call and the news. It was a really heartbreaking sight to watch her completely break down in tears. Someone sent a Citation up here to get her and bring her down there where the family are. If that was an Angel/Mercy flight, thank you to that company/owner who sent it.

Deepest and most hearfelt condolences for the family for their loss.

That is so sad. I do not think I would be able to handle that.

RIP. Kudos to whoever provided the Citation flight for the daughter- it's nice to know there are still good people in the world.

On a side note, to the media idiots, since when is a Bonanza a turbo-prop (not withstanding the highly unlikely scenario that this one had the turbine STC)?

Rest in Peace to the victims.

Aren't you not supposed to try and do a full base leg? From the map it looks like he could have made it if he had turned back right on top of the runway instead of going past the numbers again.

Flight aware says its a turbine. But who knows for sure.

EDIT: Yes it is. It was a B36TC.

Easy on the MMQB. I know you don't mean anything by it, but the investigation will tell.

RIP to both, and condolences to the family.
