Plane from Phoenix searched after alleged bomb threat

SAN DIEGO - A woman trying to fly from Phoenix to San Diego allegedly told security screeners her luggage contained a bomb.
The woman didn't make it on the flight, but her bag did, and the plane wasn't searched until it arrived at its destination.

The San Diego Harbor Police Department's bomb squad searched the plane. It didn't find any bombs, but the luggage checked by the woman who made the threat was destroyed.
Mesa Air says the 47-year-old woman became frustrated after being pulled aside for a pat-down search by security personnel at Sky Harbor. That's when she allegedly remarked that her checked luggage contained a bomb.
Mesa Air says the woman was questioned by police and then released.
-> ok.. so she probably made some smart remark like "what - you think my luggage has a bomb in it or something?" and they got all perturbed BUT, if the woman cleared security after the incident and her luggage cleared and flew all the way to San Diego with NO incident (mind you, she wasn't on the flight)... why didn't they pull her luggage off before it left? why did her lugggage go to San Diego without her? and why oh why was her luggage destroyed after it had flown all the way to San Diego with no incident and after it had been taken off the plane in San Diego????? was that really a necessary move? sounds like someone's not doing their job again by pulling the bags off BEFORE they fly
