Boeing: What happens to the 747 manufacturing space past 2022?

Super secret source says that Boeing will be introducing the next generation 737 - the "737-Bigly" and it will be a stretched version with YUGE engines carrying 1,000 (or 1,500 Asians in high-density seating and 4,500 "fleeing Saigon/Afghanistan/next hellhole" refugee seating). They will put super great software on it so it flies normal'ish and it'll be built in WA and all the people will have good paying jobs and such.

Maybe Boeing and Airbus will just merge and neither will lose market share. It will be AB-320s and BA-737s moving forward. It seems like an easy way to stop the eternal online arguments about whose product is better. (I hope Boeing can right the ship, it would be a disgrace if they disappear.)

Formerly N178UA, IIRC, this was one of the planes United kept out of mothballs longer than others to do a lot of contracted troop transporting.

More practically speaking, don’t hold your breath for a swank midcentury bar or cafe inside the jet. The fuselage will become office space for Westbank.

Westbank founder Ian Gillespie promises occasional public exhibits. “It’s not something I’m going to open to the public all the time. I want to make it something that’s special,” Gillespie said. “If people want to walk by the plane and take an Instagram photo, it’s there for them.”

It’s a beautiful concept, I just wonder how it will hold up. Under the gloss it’s still just a plane with paint as far as material and coatings with the mixture of weather, mold, and process to clean it and keep it looking good.

Lot of beautiful outdoor salvage/reclaimed art out there that looks amazing for a few years, then develops to an eye sore. Look at planes on poles at low budget air museums. They start looking haggard fast.

Just needs to be washed regularly. Won't be cheap, but its not impossible. I knew a guy that had a contract to wash/wax an F-86 on a stick in Ft Lauderdale. The Air Force has strict requirements for any airplanes they lend out for display.
