Blues Pilot Preemptively Seeks Hegseth Blessing

Do they not have the concept of a display line? That's shocking to see. In Europe something like that would be unthinkable. Over there you can no longer fly over the audience since the Frecce Tricolori crash in Ramstein.
 
Absolutely love the Blues. However, it is obvious to see that rules don’t matter anymore with this SecDef and as long as anyone’s actions can be rationalized as “spreading freedom” or “displaying lethal capabilities” they’ll get amnesty.
 
Multiple times how Hegseth has dismissed unnecessarily risky flight operations for the Army and now Navy. Probably some USAF • I haven’t heard about either.

Air shows are cool as hell and I’ve been to a bunch of them. But this kind of behavior is alarming. A term that we’re all familiar with explains it.

Former Navy here, and I literally LOVE the Blues. I joined because of them, I spent my Naval career working on the F-18 because of them, and I had the pleasure of working with the Blues on a few occasions.

That said, this was bad, and could have been VERY bad. I am all for high-speed, low altitude passes, but if Kegsbreath comes in and just gives them a freedom token and ignores this, it is another example of how we are watching procedures, policies, rules of engagement, and erosion of gates, speeds, and altitudes during flyovers and demonstrations, within all branches of the military.

This bro culture BS needs to stop. It is going to get somebody killed.

Aside from the potential for something glitching at the wrong moment, or Florida Man flying his drone over the beach, I'm more disappointed by the unprofessional improvisation and departure from the orchestration.

Another time I would say The offender would be wise to play that card, even if it wasn’t the case. In these times though, maybe he’s going for street cred.

Looked like some of the beach furniture was thrown about pretty good. Could result in injuries.


Pretty predictable though that passes would get lower and lower until something happens if we make showing off normal behavior.

Yeah, this was a bit different than the norm and somebody deserved a talking to without intervention from Washington.

Historically, the shoreline is the redline, which is too liberal, as swimmers can be a 100 yards out.

Was this a performance with the whole team? I thought I saw a slow motion vid showing number 3 or 4, which would have been odd as I would have expected the lead and opposing solo guys, 5 and 6.

Watched again, it was 5 and 6.
 
Hegseth will put them up for the congressional medal of honor without any concept that we have particular rules for very important reasons.
