From talking with the pilots, and knowing people who are associated with the squadron, the beach show is one of the most difficult for them to fly, and they always put on a great show.
How'd you like those two sneak passes? :rawk:

Yeah, it was a great documentary. Thought it showed what they have to go through very well.

I have two friends here at UPS that are ex-Blues, Scott "Snooze" Anderson (the slot #4 in the IMAX movie shown a few years ago). The other, Dave "Daddy" Kidwell, invited me to the Indy show last year and we were given the VIP treatment including riding out and back to the show site with the team.
We got the full treatment including full police escort to and from the show site from the hotel as they blocked city roads and highways for us. We were ushered into the Blues VIP family and friends tent at the front near show center with all the food and beverages you can consume.
Incidentally, the "Boss" graduated the same high school I attended when my family lived in Georgia (Avondale High School : The Blue Devils) Ironic, he went from a Blue Devil to a Blue Angel!
Anyway, that's the only way to attend and enjoy an airshow!!

Got to sit in Blue's VIP at the Offutt AFB show last year with the Virtual Blue Angels, and it was indeed pretty awesome,, but sitting in the performers vans is pretty fun as well

The Blue Angels are pretty much what sparked my interest in flying. I saw them at PAX river in Southern Maryland one year as a little kid and I was awestruck.
Two years ago I worked the Joint Services air show at Andrews AFB in Maryland and we got onto the tarmac early to setup our displays. At that time the Blue Angels were practicing and it was awesome! They taxied right by me and I sat there like a kid just soaking it up, waving, grinning. I got to meet Dale "Snort" Snodgrass later when he came over to our tent and signed autographs. Great time. Except for that whole having to work thing.

Virtual aerobatics has been around for a while, and goes from civilian aerobatics to the military teams. Some of the more established virtual teams have gotten to work with the real teams.

Two of these teams, my team, The Virtual Iron Eagles, and another, The Virtual Patriots, are actually a full part of the real teams.

That video is from 2006 has over 324,000 hits on it. They've only gotten better.

Probably good PR for the Blues to recognize these folks. Never know which one of those 13 yr old enthusiasts might one day decide to try and come fly grey jets for us.

While I was stationed at NAS Pensacola, the Blues where everywhere. One of my favorite moments was when I would have to do morning Colors, and one of the Blues came hauling ass overhead. Don't know if they planned it or not, but the timing was perfect and that Hornet came from behind me, scared the $#!^ out of me. Fast, low and loud.
wow. I'm bushed. Just got back from a 767 transatlantic I just flew as Capt for Virtual Continental. Now I can't go home, cuz I've got a ton of complaints from Virtual ALPA concerning one of the other virtual pilots that the virtual airline management are trying to hang over a contract issue. As the virtual negotiating committee chairman for the local virtual ALPA MEC here, I'm going to busy with this one.
