Blood pressure CACI requirements

That's just, like, your opinion, man
Hi Doctor, I'm not sure when your actual retirement date is, so please disregard if you're off sailing around by now. :)

If not, I'm a bit confused by what's required by the FAA for an initial hypertension diagnosis/treatment. Looks like that may become a reality for me shortly. The FAA website has the newer CACI requirements listed (status report with stable medication over 2 weeks with no changes recommended, no side effects, no symptoms), but I'm finding some conflicting information. Is that status report all that's required these days? No ECG, no lipid panel, no 3 consecutive days of BP readings?

Thanks, and congrats on the retirement.

For the FAA that is all that is required. For a good hypertension evaluation, you should get a ECG, lipid panel TSH thyroid test and test of kidney function (basic metabolic profile).

Thanks again, doc. My lipids, TSH, and kidney function are all normal. I'll look into the ECG, as well.
