Blogger/journalist suggests AA crew "drunk" for flight path to JFK

If she thought that would advance her career then she is an idiot. There was a journalist or something not too long ago who posted something stupid while she was air born on her way back from Europe to find when she landed back in the U.S that her career was pretty much over due to her stupidity. This day in age the internet is the judge jury and executioner. Not that this girl really had a career anyway. A guest 'blogger' really doesnt count.

You may be right, and I could easily be giving her too much credit for intelligence. But I'm thinking she was hoping to get noticed and get some sort of job writing clickbait. If that was her plan, it may not have been very well thought out. But you can see how she thought it might work: drum up fear and outrage about the airlines, which most people are wary of especially after all the PR failures/ outrage stories/ customer service incidents the airlines have been having this year. Also most people are at least somewhat afraid of flying (after all it's not really natural for human beings), and fear sells. So she may have been hoping to secure some sort of paying position from that, after all even well-respected publications tend to use some clickbait and sensationalism nowadays. She certainly didn't have much of a career but then journalism is probably not an easy career path to succeed in. I suspect the competition greatly exceeds the number of actual, paid jobs, especially decent ones.

I think this is a pretty important lesson. The internet's a great education tool and anyone who happened to follow her story can see that she made the mistake of making a serious accusation on a topic she had no experience on and also in that she should have never double downed and at least considered the possibility that she was wrong.

Hey, she probably learned from Our Dear Leader; this is exactly his MO.

At least there was no mention of tarmac.
I hate that ef'n word. The Seabees haven't hacked a runway out of the jungle on some South Pacific island in 70 years. "Sorry for the delay folks, we're just waiting for some "tarmacers" to come out and guide us onto the gate." GAAHHHHH!

When I get bored and take a gander at passenger comments on post-flight surveys, I remember that "Well, you read them. What did you expect?" :)

I really need to start going on leave every summer and find a internet-less cabin in the woods.

She saw the end of any career she may have had and lawyered up. Period.

:D

She tweeted out that people were sending her death threats and threatening her career, so that may have had something to do with it.

This is a good case study for a journalism ethics class as to why you shouldn't run your mouth about things you know nothing about that can have a real effect on peoples' careers and company's reputations. She's lucky she didn't have enough of a following for AA to care.

Yeah but she didn't do it under the auspices of journalism so really her career has nothing to do with it.

Id like to see her proof that people were sending her death threats. My guess is this was her attempt at getting pitty. I agree. This is a great 'what not to do' situation.

Right? Who the frack sends a death threat over something like this, no one. She just felt threatened becuase people called her out on her BS and she wanted protection from her own stupidity.
