First edition Storm for sale. Software has recently been updated with the Storm 2 software and update.

Device is in fine shape. No contract attached to it, no phone number either of course. Go to Verizon and get service from them with no contract.

The device is locked to Verizon's network - sorry I'm not dropping $30 to unlock the phone for someone else. So you could unlock the device and take it to another CDMA network w/ no contract.

Package includes the phone, an acrylic clear case, Blackberry Desktop Manager CD and Verizon Blackberry CD, and two travel (home) chargers.

$275 shipped.

I'll post pictures later if anyone really wants them.

How/where do you get the Storm 2 software on it? Does it work OK? Any issues? I've got a Storm I might like to do that to...

Well, the phone was my wife's. She bought it back this summer when they had the buy one get one free deal - much like they're doing again right now.

Her sister has had nothing but difficulty with her Storm. To the tune of returning five so far. Now, my wife has only had to take one back - the very first one. The first release was plagued with far too many bugs and made the phone's OS extremely slow. Nice move blackberry.

But, the second device, she never had any issues with. Well, one day her sister was getting a lot of dropped calls, no internet connectivity - so no e-mail, and also no text messaging. She took the phone into the local verizon place, they warrantied out another one to her. The one they gave her was a storm, and they offered to update the software to the storm 2 software (OS) in the store. So she did that.

My wife then called me and told me that her sister got the new storm 2 software installed on the phone and said she wanted to do the same. So, we walked in, they took the phone and installed the software.

The Storm 2 software was quite the change in performance of the phone. The touchscreen is more responsive, battery life is improved, and the phone just seems to run a whole lot smoother.

But, with my wife's recent aquiring of an iPhone 3Gs, she doesn't need (nor does she want) the Storm anymore.

Got it.

I just talked to I.T. here (it's a company phone) and they are going to be updating our phones to the new software as well. It has to be done by our in-house guy, I guess because we're hooked up through our Blackberry Exchange Server or something like that. I had checked on-line to try to update my phone myself but it wouldn't let me - thus my question to you above. I've heard the new software makes a big difference, so I'm looking forward to it.
