Bird Strike on Checkride

Sorry to hear about that.

How long did you have to shut down for an inspect? I would think the examiner would take into consideration you are leaving Friday and try to get you done even after the bird strike if everything was in-tact. I don't think that shutting down to check for damage would take much more than 10-15 minutes.

Took my CSEL ride today up at Hooks and winds were great today. Hopefully it stays the same for you tomorrow and you get this knocked out before you move.

Keep your head up and go get it knocked out tomorrow man!

haha yeah, we report them everytime...of course they don't listen to tower...dang pesky birds.

Then do like I do... hit them! ;)

(Disclaimer... even with this suggestion, I remove myself from all responsibility of fisher37's next bird strike...)

We will see man the ceilings are forecast to be 1500 and temp/dewpoint spread isn't giving me much hope. We will see.

you hit a bird on your checkride? on my checkride there were flocks of birds everywhere and i dodged them all using extreme bank/pitch. if you are going for your checkride you should def be able to dodge any bird that comes your way...next time make sure you receive proper instruction before getting signed off. :sarcasm: :laff:
(continuation of your last thread)

Awesome post clrtag! Did i tell you about the time I dodged ten flocks of birds on a checkride, using only rudder and elevator trim?? Ha Ha!!

WELL?????

no luck man ceilings were too low for me to do steep turns and stalls. I am going to check out what it will take in Alaska for me to finish, even though I know it is up to the flight school/specific examiner. If it is a ridiculous hassle I have to come back to Texas in the summer any way for some things and I will just finish it then. It's all good. Hey thanks for asking man it means a lot.:rawk:

Sorry to hear that you didn't finish up. Remember that you have 60 days if you can get back to TX and finish up with that examiner. Good luck with the move!
