Biden- laguardia like third world country

Probably not the most politically correct phrasing for the vice-president and someone who is considering a run for president.
 
Not that I'm a Biden fan and I'm certainly not a fan of anything in NYC, but if you read the article, it's about investment in infrastructure.

We're really behind in our airports in the US. Many of them are decrepit compared to other airports around the world.

Agreed. LGA is fugly. I've always found it interesting how some major airports are clean and comfortable and others are complete holes. Where does the money come from to update the terminals? Airport commission via local taxes? Landing fees? Other Fees?
 
Airports are weird. They'll make some airlines build their own terminals, whereas they'll BUILD a terminal to get an LCC to serve the city or implore the airline to un-ass some of those gates to a competitor.

RDU got a $20m renovation paid for by mostly city taxes.
 
I like Miami.

LaGuardia could sure use a facelift.

DFW is getting a massive renovation and I gotta say it's pretty slick.

The parking garages have vehicle sensing parking spaces. A little light hangs from the ceiling above each space- red is occupied, green is vacant. Very nice touch.

Toll booths are all going automated. Much faster.
