Sorry, i'm being kinda lazy...could someone direct to where the FARs talk about a flight review or flight currency?

Thanks!

Biennial ... biannual would be twice in one year :banghead: :D
oh, yeah...right......i knew that! too bad you can't edit the subject line!

Well, i found what i was looking for...thanks Mr Creepy...FAR 61.56

Here's another site, courtesy of AOPA

Read again ... what you posted actually does agree with me.

Semi-annual is twice in one year ... as is biannual.

Per your definition source:
BIANNUAL
biannual
One entry found for biannual.

Main Entry: bi·an·nu·al
Pronunciation: (")bI-'an-y&(-w&)l
Function: adjective
1 : occurring twice a year

Which is incorrect usage for the context of a flight review. As I stated above a flight review is BIENNIAL.

Per the M-W Dictionary:
biennial
One entry found for biennial.

Main Entry: bi·en·ni·al
Pronunciation: (")bI-'e-nE-&l
Function: adjective
1 : occurring every two years

semiannual is twice in one year. The way I remember this is the Victoria's Secret Semi Annual Sale when they show lots and lots of tv commercials. If they did it only ever other year, I'd want to shoot someone.

Semiannual/Biannual are synonymous.

On more important matters ... the heavy campaign ads should be shown monthly.

All this anti-semantic talk!

It won't be long before the nazi's start dancing :)

Wow, did you read the second definition or just stop cold at the first :)

2 : BIENNIAL 1

There you go!

Look at biweekly for example:

Bi can mean "twice" or "every second".

2 : BIENNIAL 1

Yes, I did ... and I contacted Merriam-Webster to let them know about their mistake .... j/k :D

We just helped illustrate precisely why the FAA dropped/is dropping the phrase BFE in exchange for ... "the flight review."

It's a moot point anyway... it's not called "Biennial" or "Biannual", it's just a "Flight Review" and it's due every 24 calender months....

§ 61.56 Flight review.

(a) Except as provided in paragraphs (b) and (f) of this section, a flight review consists of a minimum of 1 hour of flight training and 1 hour of ground training...

... (c) Except as provided in paragraphs (d), (e), and (g) of this section, no person may act as pilot in command of an aircraft unless, since the beginning of the 24th calendar month before the month in which that pilot acts as pilot in command, that person has—

(1) Accomplished a flight review given in an aircraft for which that pilot is rated by an authorized instructor and

(2) A logbook endorsed from an authorized instructor who gave the review certifying that the person has satisfactorily completed the review. ...

come on guys. did you understand what he was talking about. i sure hope so. who really gives $%^& if his grammar or choice of words was off. all this crap about spelling lately is beginning to drive me insane. if you have that much time on your hands then go find something to do like watching the victoria secret commercials.

There's a *shift* key on each end of the keyboard that will allow you to capitalize the first word in each sentence.

If you so desire.

:D

(BTW, which channel airs the V.S. commercials?)

Yes we all know what he is referring to. But with that being said......There will come a test/DE etc....where his exact choice of words will matter. Some will be picky.. Kind of like the 2 years/24 calendar months......We all know the answer, but the books says.......calendar months.

Tomatoe, Tomato, etc.........

Suprised TonyC didn't attack this one ;)
