Yeah, I didn't explain it well initially. Part of the issue with sport pilot training is the wide difference in aircraft that can be used. Compare a sport pilot student training in a CTSW to one training in a Challenger II (basically an ultralight http://www.quadcitychallenger.com/). Sure they have things they both need to learn, but there are many differences between them. Its tough to incorporate that into the PTS and regulations. Right now, I wouldn't have a problem teaching in the higher performance LSA's for sport pilots. I don't think I would be as comfortable with the lower speed ones, and I just don't have the experiences to know what the differences are.
