Beware: Another PFT Scam!

It is quite common here in Europe, unfortunately. And there are quite a few wet license holders who don't find jobs and think that if they buy a 737NG type rating plus 500 hours in Indonesia or North Africa and think that 700hrs TT, 500 hrs on type will get them a job in Euroland. Some integrated students (similar to 141) are going straight into an airbus or boeing with as low as 170hours total time here.

I don't think you will find a lot of Americans signing up for this deal, but don't be surprised if there are a handful of Europeans and guys from other countries such as India, Australia, and more funding these types of schemes.

my thing is,is this a scam? and 44k to get a visa etc?

it depends on your definition on scam...
It is probably a "legit" operation, you would get the hours you paid for etc...
I believe though that this is a fraudulent and illegal behaviour, you should not have to pay to work and you are only making the market a worse place for yourself.
Lets say you do go and pay 50Kto work, you are there for 3 years, you get your 500hours 737 and then what?
do you think they are going to keep you? Of course not, why would they? There is another "you" in line to pay then another 50K for the next 3 years and so on.
I have heard rumours that other companies are reluctant to hire people that have paid these companies to, so after 3 years you are stuck with 50K gone and a TR that is due for recurrency soon...

The EASA/JAA put arguments aside, I think it is extremely risky. There have been a lot of European students left holding the bag. $44k for the program? What is your remedy to get back the cash when the fly by night company takes the money and runs.
