Best way to prepare for General, Airframe, and Powerplant writtens? Test prep software?

I have my Oral and Practical this spring for my A&P, and I want to get started on studying for my A&P Writtens. Does anybody have the best suggestion for how to study for the written? For all my FAA writtens I have used Gleim, and exams4pilots.org, but I was wondering if there was a software out there that is a better way to study for the written. So got any suggestions?

I used ASA Test Prep Software. It really seemed to prepare me well for all 3 of the writtens. That's the software our school used also, and we had to score a certain percentage before we'd get the sign off for the tests. I've used Gleim for a a couple of flying ratings but I've just preferred ASA over any of them. I have no certain reason why I have...ASA just seems more short and to the point.

I used ASA Test Prep Software also, thats what I used all through school. They also have an iphone app.

As with any FAA test, its all about memorization. After you study enough, eventually you will know the answer to every question before you finish reading it. I used both ASA Test Prep software and the book.

Unless you already have a DME selected, I would consider going to one of the week long study preps that covers the oral and practical courses. You'll get the written study prep, usually with a guarantee pass on the written exams, but also be able to interact with the examiner which helps out.

Good luck.

Thanks!

I have been interacting with all the DMEs for the past 4 years as they all teach our A&P Courses. My University does a 4 year A&P Program. I still have a few classes left this semester. I looked at ASA's site. Looks pricey, but I want to do well on those writtens so I will be getting those.

Check with your instructors. Our school buys the ASA School package that allows for several hundred installations, includes all the FAA (Pilot, Mechanic, and other airmen) tests, and allows us to install the software on our personal PCs.

If we want to use the Android or iOS apps, we have to buy them ourselves.

I just bought the ASA AMT prepware for my iPod touch. Simple and effective software! $9.99 hard to beat!
