Hey @Derg.

Have you ever given any thought to having a "best of" section for the forum? (If you have one and I've missed it, apologies).

Best restaurants in KXYZ? Best hotels in Nassau? Best Trim in Ireland? Best beaches in Baha? Best beer in Bavaria? ...That sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure there is a lot of knowledge of such on this board.

Seems it might represent a useful resource for all of us as well as a fruitful cross marketing/revenue opportunity for us. And by us, I mean specifically, after you rake in all that filthy lucre, NJC drinks are on JC.

That's actually a damn good idea. Like a "lonely planet" for pilots.

Help some of our coworkers stop going to Irish pubs and chain restaurants.
Yup. That's precisely the idea. :)
I mean, who travels more than pilots? I was thinking of doing the website myself, but @Derg already owns the best of the best of the best... so you know, I'll just provide consulting services, take my 40%, and be happy as a pig in manure. ;)

BTW, some mod should probably put this thread in the private section most ricki tick, lest we lose our opportunity.

Good add, but Nope. It can't be ad hoc and unformatted. The forum would need to incorporate some sort of DB. I'm sure many, many folks could, and likely will, contribute valuable insights. But most of those insights will go unnoticed and wither unappreciated if there is not a formatted, searchable DB. Also, we'll likely need an app for that, or at least to accompany that.

In San Francisco, the more neon lights in a bar/club/lounge in the Castro district, the less likely you are to find a bear but the greater chance in meeting twinks. Also, a secret between the locals is that any doorway, stoop, or driveway doubles as a toilet.

Ok, ok. It was just an idea! No need to go full snark! Never go full snark.

Still foggy? I forgot how foggy China can get in the fall. One time in PVG it took us 45 mins of driving the van up and down the flight line to find our plane. Then we were delayed 6 hours.
It's finally burning off, but supposed to fog in again tonight before our inbound arrives. So much for Incheon in 2 days. Ugh.

Back to the thread at hand, for those UPS, Delta, and Air Beachball crews the overnight in Songdo at either the Oakwood Premier or the Sheraton Grand, definitely go see Warren at the Cinder Bar. Another good place to eat is called Crispy Burger. @Cal Goat and I have had a few inter airline dates both places.

This is a good idea. We could probably just start threads and name by airport code (easily searchable), and people can post relevant information about where they stay, what to do, local culture, good food etc.

I can add a few good BBQ joints off the top of my head.

MCI - Jackstack BBQ , Kansas City Joe's ( Burnt end sandwich was ranked #1 BBQ sandwich in the country)
SAN - Phil's BBQ ( Tri tip sandwich is amazing )
EWR - Dinosaur BBQ near penn station ( good food for EWR haha )
