CHQ compensation is better then Mesa's at all points and work rules and scope is way better. The two contracts really dont compare. And no they didnt take any of Eagles flying, it was TWE flying that just changed colors. When the contract expires I dont think CHQ has any desire to continue it at the current rate.
 
Umm...yes CHQ did take Eagle's flying. Once upon at time, in the long long ago American Eagle was actually made up of four different companies. The pilots at these companies sacrificed quite a bit to bring all Eagle flying under one pilot group...that's where the sixteen year contract came from. When TWA went under American brought in CHQ along with TWE to cover STL and to get around mainline scope. That is why CHQ flies the ERJ-140 "scope-buster" instead of the 145 under American colors. Now it isn’t the pilots fault, but CHQ is undermining the sacrifice that Eagle pilots made.

Moreover, isn't 40% of the CHQ RJ fleet working under US Air colors? US Air is breathing it last dying breath...what is management’s plan when all that flying is gone?

I have to defend Kingairer on this one. The only Eagle flying CHQ does is out of STL, which was NEVER an Eagle base - it was American Connection done by TSA.

JT: in case we haven't made it clear enough on the Lounge, you're wrong on this one. Infighting between pilots doesn't mean diddly squat around here when your CEO feels a pilot is worth nothing. Mesa's problem IS upper management. This is not the same company that you left 3 years ago. Trust me.
 
Well the management hasn't changed significantly in three years.

What I see on the lounge is fighting between freedom and non-freedom, and of course the ramblings of Pookie and Captain Mark.

Freedumb and non-Freedumb will continue for years; that's not what's making life suck here. As for management being the same, maybe we have the same people, but they're sucking more blood on a daily basis.

It's not what it was 3 years ago.
 
I might say that YOU aren't what you were three years ago either. Your posts here and over in MesaMeleeLounge are definitely much more negative.

Maybe you've just noticed how bad things are.

Another thing is that the whole industry is going down the crapper anyway. NOBODY has it like it was three years ago. 9-11 did serious damage to regionals as well. Mgt can get away with things now that they never could before. Not just at Mesa but at all carriers.
 
Only problem with Pinnacle is low pay for FO's..that will be changing though.


Upgrade times are fast- about the fastest anywhere, esp for a jet operator..quick expansion. It's a good place to be right now.
Detroit isnt the best place to live, but its nice flying out of there. Im commuting...which isnt too bad. gets old sometimes though.
 
Peanuckle if I recall you are a new hire, so you probably weren't at a Regional three years ago were you?
 
Nah... Ive been a barbie jet driver officially since january..started class in november.

Ive just had my airline deflowering, so to speak. haha.
 
Pinnacle seems like a nice place. I was actually hired there in Aug 2001 as a street captain and had my class postponed and eventually cancelled in May 2002.

As a street captain they were going to provide me with a hotel and pay me $100/wk expenses during training. When it changed to an FO slot in 2002 those bennies were withdrawn. I said NO THANKS.

And now I understand Pinnacle is working with Gulfstream on some sort of bridge program. I don't see how this can be good for the industry.

On the positive side I was really impressed with Stephanie Grantham and Kim Monroe. They seem like top shelf people.

When did Pinnacle get ERJs? That's the plane that is nicknamed "Barbie Jet" - long and thin with two big ones on top.
