Best place to get ATP rating?

I remember searching the threads maybe a month or so ago and ran across an ALL ATPs school in TX I believe, that was doing the ATP checkride for really cheap. I can't seem to find that thread anymore when I search. It was only this location because they were apparently competing against another multi engine training place around the area. I am pretty sure it was Texas, but I am not for sure. What about any other place? I am trying to knock out the ATP rating relatively cheap and not too difficult. Any help is greatly appreciated.<O:p></O:p>

I just did the multi engine rating at Clyde Fredrickson's at Arlington in Texas. ATP ride-as long as you meet time and written requirements will cost you $1395. No gaurantee like his ME or MEI rides, but still, pretty darn good deal if you ask me. I'll do that when I meet time requirements, not even half way there! You'll see their ad in Trade a Plane under ME training in Texas

I think this may be what you were talking about. I posted this on my company forums back in September for some FO's who were looking at getting their ATP. You may want to give them a call to see if the special is still available... use the 817 number listed below vs. the 800 number.

Alrighty... here's my suggestion.

To the OP... in the original post, you state that ATP charges a lot so that is out of the question. As a result you are getting folks telling you to go to cheaper places where you may have to travel to, and pay for extra hotel costs on top of that.

Well, I just had lunch with a buddy who's instructing at the ATP DFW location and here's the super secret scoop on getting it done at ATP. Call them up and ask them about their special at the GKY location (Arlington, TX). Here's the details:

- It's a 2 day program for $995
- Guaranteed Rating, they will pay for the retraining and the examiners re-check fee if you bust.
- New model Piper Seminoles with dual Garmin GNS430's
- On site full-time MX
- Not a bad drive from Houston, training discounts at local hotels.
- Seminole FTD time provided at no additional cost if needed.
- Can't schedule the check-ride for a weekend.
- This offer is apparently good for ATP, ME add-on, or MEI add-on.

It's not advertised on the website, but if you call the local number 817-419-6203 and ask for Jeremy he will let you know any other details. Apparently they are attempting to be the premier ME provider in the Arlington/DFW area and as a result they are blowing the competition out of the water on this one. Again, this is a special only for the GKY location, and most likely for a limited time.

So... anyway... there's my suggestion.

I can confirm they still have that for at least the ME. When I went to Fredrickson's, ATP had a big banner pointed directly at Fredrickson's talking about their guaranteed $995 ME rating. Don't know about any other ratings, looked good though-$400 cheaper
