Best place to fly!

Umm... Not like Florida... Depends where in TX... Houston, maybe--but not really Dallas.

The T-storms in Florida aren't that bad, you just learn that summer afternoons are a bad time to schedule training flights. They tend to be fairly isolated here, and it usually isn't a problem picking your way around them.

You'll see a lot more convective sigmets here than you will in Texas though. We have one over the whole state that runs July to September...

interesting airports to visit, good weather, cheap flight training, and air traffic tame enough so you don't think you're gonna die at any moment like here in south fl. Anywhere like that?

Really? I had no idea! That's where I finished my IR out of. I love that airport.

Do your IR in Ohio in either in the fall or spring. Tons of actual IFR.

I really liked flying in Arizona and California. I've only had the pleasure of flying in TX, CA, and AZ. TX isn't that amazing, it's all flat - but hey if that is what your after go ahead for it! Haha

I've been in Cali and Florida, I wouldn't pass up the experiences I have from the Great Lakes area to live where the weather is near perfect all year round
