Best online college to finish degree?

Cessnaflyer

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It's bugging me that I haven't been able to finish my degree. I've moved around so much that I've been so close with two degrees. I was a few classes away with aviation management at Central Washington University and two classes away from a GIS degree with another university. Problem is neither have online options to finish the last classes.

So now I am looking into just finishing with an online BS in professional aviation/pilot. I also have my ATP with ATR-42/72 type and I read some programs give credit for 121 time as well.

Has anyone else done something similar and have any advice?

I'm in a similar boat. I have 3 classes remaining, all of which are math classes. I tried to take them through University of Phoenix, however, my university does not accept the Phoenix. They want me to come back and take them on campus. which doesn't make a lick of sense, considering I live in CO and the school is in MI.

I debating on just taking my credits and transferring them to a University that offers an online degree.

Which school in MI? Phoenix and other "for-profit" degree mills are not respected so I don't blame them for not accepting those credits. If they're just math classes, can't you just take them at a local college and transfer them?

Western. I have Statistics, Calculus and Physics remaining. I spoke the director of the physics department and the guidance counselor and they said I have to come back to the university to take the classes, I don't understand that, there were students taking the classes at community colleges and transferring the credits.

KVCC is a known quantity to Western.

GIS degree without a doubt. Find a way to finish it.

Do you need to fulfill the residency requirement? If not, try to get the details and/or talk to someone with sense.

TESC! Thomas Edison State College. It is part of the State College System of New Jersey, and gives a ton of credits for your current FAA certificates. They also take old college credits.....credits more than 10 years old. I sent them my transcripts, and once I send them my ATP, I will be eligible for another BS degree after taking only 3 classes at their school. It is fully accredited.

Haven't been down here for more than a couple weeks but heard on the radio that ASU has some completely online programs.

They sent me a form email back that didn't answer my questions. Hopefully there are some UVU people that can help.
I graduated from UVU. Before I went there I attended a junior college in CA to knock out GE classes on the cheap and then transferred them to UVU. Worked out pretty good. I would get a hold of their admissions office and see what classes will transfer in for you.

Subscribed to this one. I looked into UVU, but their out of state tuition is stupid expensive. It's almost $15k a semester. So I'm still looking.g. I'd like to find somewhere affordable that I can turn my certificates into credits.

The for-profits are (a.) expensive, (b.) designed to be paid for by an employer. I can't think of any regional who pays living wages, never mind an education benefit! (c.) locks you into finishing there by having courses that are not very standard, therefore difficult to transfer. Some do offer a decent education, but caveat emptor.

Mid-career on-campus programs are usually weekends only, lock you into their program, and tough to transfer credits in or out.

Best deals are at publicly-funded 2 and 4 year schools in your state. Check carefully for residence rules (institution for tuition cost and the program you're interested in!), transferability (in and out). It's seldom a problem, but make sure that the institution is accredited by a regional accrediting authority.

Rules & courses change periodically. I did 2/3 of a masters early in their time at Phoenix on-line, and since then, the program has changed, and my credits aren't worth diddly if I wanted to complete it now. Fortunately, life has changed and I don't.

If all you want is to finish the degree, do it the easiest and cheapest way possible. Leave yourself open to learning something in the process.

Good luck!
