Best flight schools

Could someone inform me of the best flight schools in america.....mostly schools upstate not down in florida. This would be a great help
 
the best to some is the worst for others.

it depends on what you are interested in with regard to training.

are you looking to go from no time to regional pilot in 3 months? are you looking for a private pilot certificate but can take your time? do you want to own your own airplane and train in it?
 
PanAM, FSI, ATP, AriBen, DCA, ERAU, MTSU, UND, CPS, White, Mom & Pop FBO's, any intermediate flight training school, or university flight program, etc...

They all will have at least one good CFI. ;)

Are you looking for a larger school or a more intimate one? 141 or 61? Training for personal or professional advancement? Single or twin training? Are you self-motivated or do you prefer a structured, step by step, learning environment with classes? Where do you want to be in 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, etc?

Lot's of questions to answer... but it really does boil down to what school feels right for you and your needs. So... start figuring out what your needs are and then start making phone calls and go on a flight school touring spree. It will really open your eyes.

That said... a good CFI is all it really takes. :)

Im looking to go from zero flight time.....to CFI, im a international student and was sreaching the internet for flight schools. I came across this website and it seems that everyone here knows about becoming a professional pilot and could help me along my journey. But i came across many good schools, that offer many tempting offers and they may be true or not. Since you guys have experience I was wondering if you could help me out with choosing the right flight school.

But the best thing about this site is the fact that folks really do care about what type of training would work best for you.

So... just by asking "Which is best" will bring out a gaggle of folks who will just randomly blurt out where they went to school because it was the best choice for them.

That's why I asked some personal questions above about your goals.

It's like if you asked which is better... Pepsi or Coke? Invariably you'd get responses like this:

1. Coke!
2. Pepsi!
3. Coke!
4. Both suck... Dr. Pepper is better.
5. How can you guys stand all that artificial color... 7-Up is where it's at!
6. I used to drink Coke... and I still think it's pretty good... but they've raised the price on it lately, so instead now I recommend RC Cola. It's just as good for half the price.
7. All carbonated beverages are bad for you... drink juice or water!

See what I'm getting at?

1) Im looking for a larger school
2) part 141
3) training for professional advancement....would one day like to become a Captain of a major airline
4)A structured environment with classes
5) In 1-2 years hopefully finished all my certificates and working as a Flight Instructor
