Two hours ago I was notified that I've been selected to be a pilot at my Air National Guard base, Martinsburg WV. Words can't come close to explaining what I'm feeling right now. It's such an honor to be in this position right now. As far as the aircraft I'm not sure what I will be flying yet. It's either going to be the C-5 or C-17. I've been a C-5 crew chief since 2007 and hope that that's the airplane.
 
Congratulations!! That is great news to hear man, I am sure that will be a blast.

Thanks everyone! This is a pretty exciting time but I still have to survive my flight physical. Once thats out of the way I will really get happy and start looking forward to training.
 
For the physical just remember to be ready to pee whenever and don't lie but you don't need to tell your life story.... know what does and doesnt need to be said. I watched a guy go through 2 extra days of brain catscans etc because he told them about the one time he fell off his bike in 6th grade and hit his head.... For obvious reasons they are going to investigate anything and everything.

Oh yea... Congrats!

I did have a head injury while in the military and it is in my medical info and i did put it on my medical application. I dont forsee it hauting me because I had no side effects and the only reason I went to the doctor is because my supervisor made me. Im sure they will give me a good screening but im not to worried about it. One thing ive been told is not to sweat the medical. No need to worry about somthing you cant control.

Oh and my medical is September 10th. I dont wanna get to excited until I get through the medical and pass, after that its party time!
