Best Airport Food

The burrito place in BNA is Baja Burrito, which is a very popular local restaurant.

SFO has by far the best food of any major airport I've been to. Max's Greek Café is awesome.

And also, the greek place in the F gates at ORD has great gyros and chicken pitas, and they seem to give special "flight crew" portions.

Oh, and the Cuban restaurant outside security at MIA (La Carreta or something?) has some really good dishes...and some not so good ones, so be careful.

My experience is limited to anywhere the Bro flies, so just the west. As far as what I have had, I would agree that SFO has about the best airport food.

Best $200 hamburger is Driggs Idaho. Nice, classy little restaurant on field.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Maui Tacos in MSP! :)

PS - I heart What A Burger -- wish we had them up here!

As little airports go I'm a big fan of the restaurants at Ocala, Fl (OCF) and Pell City, AL (PLR). My fav of the 2 is PLR. The restaurant has great atmosphere and good home cooked food. I miss going there with my students and friends. I used to go once a week when I was instructing.

The crew meals at CLT rule!!!!

WhenI flew at Piedmont ( the real Piedmont!), the F-28 had a flight which went from CLT-CRW-HTS-CLT.

You would get a real "crew-meal" box lunch from the diner at the CRW airport which included a big slab of whatever home-made pie they had that day...

I still remember those boxes...

Really? I usually don't eat much in airports since I tend to get there as late as possible, but that's good to know since those are the two airports that I'm in the most.

In my line of work, I like to offer little tidbits of info for my clients,... so I asked this question once on another site and was attacked viciously for asking for opinions of good food in airports...go figure that one out!

The sushi place in terminal 2 at VHHH (Hong Kong) is pretty good. I also hear the Mediterranean place on the ticket counter level is good as well but I haven't eaten there. There is also a Thai place that is decent in the food court. If you have time you can catch a cab to an executive golf course there at the airport and have Thai food there as well.

Is there a terminal in Hickory?

I think its called the "Runway Cafe" in HKY. Its inside the airline terminal, but a walk across the street from the GA terminal. Its been a few years since i've been there, and it seemed that i never came at the right times....but it seems like a old timey diner/burger place.

off topic here, but from my understanding, the REAL Piedmont made Southwest look like Mesa.

I jumpsat with two exPiedmont 757 guys a year ago. Interesting ride to say the least!

Good food where I am regularly...

CLT- Nothing. God I hate the food in CLT. Best deal I can find is a $6 pizza and salad deal at Pizza Hut.

Dood...CLT has at least one CPK. It may not be pizza per se but it's pretty darn good. The thai chicken pizza rocks.

IAD - also has 5 Guys now in the UAL express A gates. amazing burgers and fries.

LGA - never eat in the Cibo restaurant unless you have LOTS of time n your hands. I stopped in for a burger once cause I had about 90 mins to kill between flights and almost missed my flight. But the "scenery" was worth it.

I'm told things like this constantly from my father. He was a Piedmont 727 captain, its amazing how things have changed.

LAX...Proud Bird and IN N OUT.

I've walked to the In n' Out from the terminals and called ahead to a friend who worked at one of the cargo warehouses to bring me some when doing a turn. Well worth it.

I'm partial to the Chicago Hot Dogs from the carts at ORD.
