Russia is now refusing entry to flights that attempt to route around Belarusian airspace lmao. Insane.

Hawley is just remarkable. Before I left the cesspool known as KC, he was an up and coming star among the "establishment" GOP types in MO. He was not one of these insane Tea Party people...Jack Danforth loved him, Ivy League education....serious. Gravitas.
I am old enough to remember when the GOP was not the party of treason, as they are today with the 1/6 Commission vote branding them the Party of Treason. Although, I may not actually be...see/hear Lyndon Johnson speaking to then candidate Richard Nixon vaguely referencing things wiretaps of Nixon speaking to the Vietnamese President about to slow down the peace process until the 68 election is over...so maybe I'm not old enough to remember.

Possibly. Russian airspace permits are based on specific entry/exit points, are issued very far in advance, and are nearly impossible to change. @Stone Cold could maybe speak to that. It is possible that these denials were simply a procedural matter, and not politics. That said, it's Russia, so who knows.

The arrested dissident that was looking at 15 years in prison but most likely getting killed by the tyrant has been.... released to home arrest seven months ago, while his case is still in court, and as of this past monday is free to move about. Found a new gig in some civil rights project, believes there is a "very high chance" it was "an inside set up from our own" and is overall not dead and under the protection of Belarus special services in case someone else wants him dead.
Figured I'd give an update since this isn't likely to make the English language news.
