Being a dispatcher in Canada

Anyone have any information on being a Dispatcher at Jazz, WestJet Encore, Air Georgian, SkyRegional, Air Canada, Air Transat, WestJet? What is it like to get into a job like that in Canada? Americans getting express entry into Canada with permanent residence, language requirements, Pay, benefits, QOL, etc.

There have been some threads about this in the past. Quick summary...you have to have a Canadian DX license, pay is a lot lower than at US majors (even for the big Canadian carriers) and they normally only hire people that already have a right to work in Canada.

BTW: Year 1 Air Canada Pay: $17.16 USD/hour. For the purposes of OT pay calculation.

Per week: about $700 USD. Before Taxes.

In Toronto.

Air Canada is sized fleet wise between Spirit and JetBlue. The contract scale in the link seems on the whole slightly lower than Spirit and Frontier pay. I am not familiar with how much in taxes Air Canada dispatchers would pay on their salaries and the availability of affordable housing within a reasonable distance of the operations centre but they don't have healthcare plans deducted and they have a pension plan. They also have a pretty good vacation plan. 21 days of vacation on a 4 day work week after 5 years is pretty good.

When you take it all in account, they probably match up pretty close with Frontier/Spirit in terms of compensation. Which would make sense given their fleet size and net income.
