Re: Bay Area Cessna 206 Pilots Wanted!

Honest question: If schedule is 8 on 6 off then why does it matter how far away they live since they only have to make the commute once every 2 weeks? Is this a traveling job where they would be put up in hotels during overnights?

Re: Bay Area Cessna 206 Pilots Wanted!

Everything looks great except:

-First class medical

Really?

A lot of places require a first class for insurance. The family airplane's insurance, for instance, requires all of the pilots to have first class certificates.

I always forget about the dang insurance companies!

Re: Bay Area Cessna 206 Pilots Wanted!

Why is this always a big deal to people? Are you unable to get a first class medical?
Not at all, I just think it's a weird way to narrow down the applicants. It would be like requiring an AMES for a twin AMEL job. Sure having it makes you a little more well rounded and knowledgeable, but does it really apply to the job?

Red herring.

Re: Bay Area Cessna 206 Pilots Wanted!

At the age of most people applying for this job there is literally no difference between the 1st and 2nd class medical... so why not just have a 1st and let the privileges go to 2nd after 6 months if you don't feel like shelling out $100 for nothing.
It seems odd, especially since there is no difference in the two, but there's hoops to jump through anywhere. Just do it.

If you have a 1st, won't it just become a 3rd after a year?
