Baron Drivers...question

Looking for a BE58 max takeoff weight accel/stop, accel/go (I don't recall the baron having an accel/go, but if you do...) or takeoff distance (over obstacle, not ground roll). Sea level, ISA, MTOW, zero wind, yadda yadda...which ever is longer.

Thanks!

If you have the numbers for a BE58P, that would help, too. Thanks!

max t/o 5400 lbs. Takeoff distance over 50' equals about 3500. Accel/stop 3100. Accel/go 4200. If you want more let me know. This is for an IO-520 Baron 58.

BE-58 Baron (Normally Aspirated w/ IO-550): (These Values are Approximate but relatively close for a shotgun)

MTOW - 5500 lbs.
Takeoff - 3300
V1 Stop Dist - 2700
V1-Go Dist (to clear a 50' obs.) - 5700

Pretty close from what I remember.

I have no clue. I fly a 1974 BE-58 with IO-520s on there. Didn't the 1970's come that way from the factory?

Barons had Continental IO-520's (285hp) until sometime in the early 80's and then they upgraded the cockpit layout and equipped them with Continental IO-550's (300hp).

Don't know, I thought the beech's came with the lycomings, not the continentals, but I don't know much about barons, other than that they're cool.

Nope. All the ones I've seen were Gold motors, not Gray. I THINK there was one model that had turbo Lycomings on it though...lemme check.

*Edit* Yup, the B56 Baron had Lycoming TIO-541s. According to Wikipedia, it could really haul butt.

If these numbers are accurate, the B56 was a hoss.

Do you still need a P-Baron numbers? I can get them to you tomorrow...
Sure, if you got 'em it would be a great tool. Don't worry about tomorrow though, enjoy your Thanksgiving!!!!! I won't be home until a week from now anyway. Thanks for the help!

If you have any rough insurance numbers for the P-baron, that would also help.

Oh god, a pressurized one.

Man they are great when they work.

I've got a few hours in one and never had a problem with it. Not the pressurization anyway. The owner liked to do partial power takeoffs to "save the engines". Guess who never made it to TBO.

Remember your much ignored friendly neighborhood doctor x .75 in my future posts... At least when I'm not ranting about tyranny :insane:
