I know y'all will be harsh but whats the good, bad, and ugly about running one? Found an airplane, found the ground equipment, just have to push the "buy" button. Even have a couple marketing firms in the city that would give steady work.

It'd be Chicago based. Only one other person that is in the area, the rest come in for the summer from the East Coast.

Obviously I'd have to do the training, be proficient, then have the FAA come out and sign off on it.

If you really have some marketing firms that would give solid work it should be a pretty simple equation to figure out if it will be cash flow positive.

Finding the right airport to be based at would take some work. Hangar rent can break most aircraft operations in Chicago. I am based in Chicago and sure would be interested to hear how this works out.

Found a spot for the airplane for summer months, and then a different one for the winter. Also have the mechanics lined up. Just need to get the STC for the airplane which I think will just take a while from the FAA.

I'd think finding an airport willing to accept that operation could be an issue too.

If it's an STC it won't come from the FAA. If there isn't an STC you will be getting a field approval from the FAA, maybe that is what you meant to say? Times for that will vary by FSDO.

Do you have someone to insure your operation?

i found someone for the airplane / pilots, but that does a bring up a good point about the entire operation. will the same person be able to do it or do i need to find a different company for the business?
