Balling ass wedding proposal is balling.

Sigh. The point is, SHE loved it. End of story.

Seemed more like she loved it that he did propose, and not so much the manner in which he did. With him not even on terra firma, all she could manage to do was just jump up and down. She would have probably loved it more if he was actually there with her when he proposed.

They put on a good show, but those jets don't stir my blood at all. They're the Toyota Carollas of the military jet world. Yes, they bear some resemblance to a "warbird", but they don't make fire, they don't roar, and according to a captain I flew with that has seat time in one: they accelerate slower than a CRJ.

Why you gotta put down a Corolla?

How do you know? Are you a mind reader now too? You don't give her fiance brains enough to know her by now and what she likes or doesn't like or would find special? You call her up, interview her and then get back to us. Meanwhile, quit pissing on what is a nice event and one of the few happy/pleasant/positive threads that gets posted on here. Sheesh.

Twas an opinion. Sheesh.

He doesn't allow people to have opinions.

That's hysterical coming from you - 'I am the Great Toddzinni - I am never wrong and only my opinion matters because I am always right'. And all this time I thought that Mr. Swinger macho man, that women all over the planet are throwing themselves at (well, in reality the ones he has to pay for their attention who degrade themselves by picking up the $10.00 bills he tosses their way) had me on ignore. I guess that's just another one of your little fables.

Nothing wrong with a 'rolla, but let's be real: they're not designed and built to incite passion.

I'm still trying to narrow down a good manual, and for Toyotas the Corolla is it for sedans. They got rid of the manual Camry a while ago.

In your opinion, what incites passion for the 15k-30k range?

you can get a used (higher mileage) manual e92/90/93 M3 for 30k these days. My e92 M certainly incites passion :)

edit: not mine specifically, but similar, minus the custom paint job

First you must ask yourself what your priority is? If fuel economy trumps performance, I can't really help you. But if it's a manual sedan that's fun, MPG not being a factor, I'd get a WRX. I think they go just over $30k now, but you should be able to get a certified pre-owned one from last year or 2013 (I don't think I'll ever buy a new car again myself) for somewhere in the mid 20s. They certainly hold their value. Having owned 2 I can really say they're great all-around cars. Fast, fun and useful.

I won't argue with you on this, however, the man who gives consideration to the Carolla probably doesn't want to deal with used BMW parts and maintenance. Especially on the M cars. But damn, I do love them. I desperately want a first gen M Coupe. That little bread wagon has my heart.

yeah, I agree that buying brand new is silly, at least IMHO. I got said car, CPO with low mileage, for a fraction of original MSRP, just a couple years after original delivery. For those who can wait, it is an infinitely better financial decision than sucking up all the initial depreciation.

yeah the shoe is a real beast. I've always wanted one, though with 2 coupes already littering the garage, I doubt the wife would ever allow it (#ATNwasrightI'mwhipped). And true, the maintenance is not for the light hearted. My last regular interval service for the e92 was $990.

In spirit of staying OT, I'm still clinging on to my manual 93 Camry. She isn't much, but for a penny pincher like me, she's fun to drive and wrench on!:)

aint nothing wrong with that………the crown jewel of my car collection was built in west germany in 1990……..have ripped open more elbows/knuckles/knees/chins while turning wrenches on it than anything else in my life. Still the most fun I have ever had behind the wheel of a car. Hanging out underneath it, wrenching, is the best weekend activity I know.
