Back to instructing...tips?

Well, it looks like I'm going to go back to instructing full-time (mostly 141, w/ some freelance 61) here in a week or so. I've got over 500 hrs. dual given, but haven't done any serious instructing (other than checkouts and stage checks) in the last 8-10 months. Anyone who has taken a break and then gone back have tips on easing the transition?

In a twisted way, I'm kind of excited and looking forward to it. We'll see how long that lasts...I'm guessing about a month.

Hey man, sorry to hear the King Air gig didn't last. I wish I had a gig like that around here. Right now I'm sitting at almost 1100 hours and still only 50 hours multi. I hope to make the transition to flying freight within the year.

Anyway, to answer your question....I would find a good syllabus to follow. Out here we use the Jeppesen syllabus which has been easy to use. It spells out exactly what to cover on each lesson so there's no guess work involved and it keeps track of what's been coverd with the student. Other than that, I'm sure you remember how to do slow flight, stalls, steep turns, just remember to explain them in simple terms that people can relate to. Other than that you'll be in the instructing swing of things in no time flat!!!

Are you going to be instructing out of Akron again?
