Back to Grand Forks

I actually went Go-Carting yesterday w/ some friends. It's that new indoor recreational place about 5 minutes from here. It was the best I've seen in the world, better than what NYC has to offer. I don't have my driver's license yet, but I was riding down the twisty road (I think it's called Washington or something) as a passenger and it was a lot of fun! You've gotta negotiate those turns at 5 mph sometimes since they're so twisty. I love seeing all of the german cars around here.

Its not the city I like. Its the fact that it feels like home. I have no idea why it does over my cozy hometown in the suberb of Seattle.

I went to Arizona this break and it did not feel like home at all. I worked a full time job at Macys over the break to keep me busy. While I can trash ND with the best of them, I feel like this is home.

I also feel like I have unfinished business academically and am excited to get flying again.

I did not realize how much I wanted to get back here until I ran from seperate ends of the MSP airport terminal in 6 minutes barely making my flight. I ran so fast that they had to give me oxygen on the plane because they were worried about me passing out. (long story)

dude, was that you in the seat in front of me (temporarily) yesterday????

this kid came huffing and puffing back to 16B and then immediately went back to the front of the plane and sorta crashed in first class and got oxygen and such... didnt know whether it was a panic attack or he just hauled ass through the terminal....

You could drive, you could take the bus to FAR and take a united express flight to Den. You could drive to MSP and take AA, Delta, AirTran, etc. But, in all likelihood, you will take the easy way, NWA out of GFK and continue to piss and moan about 45 minutes (4 or 5 agents to park and unload 100 plus pax bags). If it is such an atrocity against humanity, take your business elsewhere.

Ding Ding Ding. That was me.

I hauled ass. My dad said that I was suppose to get on a tram that would take me there in 4 minutes. I never saw one. And I think I ran the same distance in under 10. went to student services today and they found nothing wrong with me. I have never felt like that before in my entire life. So embarrassing. I felt like I was going to die.

They think it was because I had about a 20 pound backpack on my shoulders and just over exertion. I used to be in bad shape about a year ago. I was like 240 pounds. Lost about 90 pounds my senior year of high school and got down to 150 or so. I have been bulking since August and am up to 170 pounds. I do not really consider myself out of shape. Going to lose weight again in March.

The scary thing is that I have been completely out of it all today. This morning, I felt like it took twice as much energy just to walk or get up the steps. I am just happy that there is nothing seriously wrong with me that can get in the way of flying.

Thats not a good way to meet another JC'er lol.

I was sooo out of it when we landed, I forgot to pick up the bag I checked.
 
hey no harm no foul, me and my buddy were just like oh #### wonder if that guy is gonna be alright!

and yeah the tram only goes between terms A and C.... ive made the jog from term F all the way to A before lugging my 50 pound record crate, not fun!!

business elsewhere...that's a good one. Yeah, I'd choose Continental for sure--they warn their baggage loaders to "lift from the knees" when a bag weighs more than 60 lbs ;)

but seriously...I don't have 14 hours to ride the train, and the fargo plan isn't so bad except it is still NWA and MSP out there. Not to mention the drive back to GFK on I-29 is pitch black...oh so safe.

I can see a mile down the road with those things. Not the road itself, but on a straight road when passing one mile marker, I can see the next one. If they're marked, I can see the next marker, plus the half. That's a mile and a half of light! Rediculous! :D
 
you know the more Blue the light, the less you actually see? get some 5000K HID's and you would understand
 
Yeah I know. Those are 6000k. The difference in output was 2780 for 6000k and 3000 for the 5000k. I wanted the bluer light though. I think it's a little less fatiguing than the more amber color.
 
Grand Forks is a hole, but a friend of mine who grew up there swears by The Red Pepper (Mexican fast food place). In fact, it's the only thing she likes about the place. If you haven't tried it already, it may be the one sparkle in all that muck.

Whoa there buddy. Wait a minute. Your talking to a Mexican here. Red Pepper is NOT Mexican food. It is the most disgusting North Dakotanized crap food I've ever tasted. A "grinder" is not Mexican, surprise people (why do some poeple think it is?). People who grow up here do swear by The Red Pepper... everyone else from all other states knows how nasty it is.
