Back in the saddle

After about 2 years of very sparse flying, I'm getting back in the right seat to do some instruction again.

I'll have to shake a little rust off, only had about 1 hour of flying in 2010, and get get my mind back in the aviation set, but I can't wait to get going again!

Learning curve will be steep too, one of the planes I'll be teaching in is a DA-40 G1000. I've got to get in the book to figure that thing out. I've got Avidyne time and a bunch of Garmin 430 time, so hopefully it'll be smooth to learn.

(oh... and GO STEELERS!!!)

You'll like the G1000. Easier to use than the 430 (which has IMHO a TERRIBLE interface) and much better integrated and less cartoonish than the Avidyne.

Finally current again! :rawk:

Well day current at least. Still need night and an IPC...

Felt good to poke holes in the sky again. Now bring on the students! :pirate:

DiamondStar's a great airplane...crisp on the controls, great visibility (but plan on baking in the summer, and I mean turning into a puddle!) and faster than the 172 with the same fuel burn. Slippery, a bit, and floats a lot if you're too fast.

Regarding the -1000 being better than the -430...eh...okay, sure. :)

Welcome back!
