She was hardcore when she was on the pill. Never missed a day in 10 years with me. We decided to stop using them in May to let her body get the hormones out of her system. Didn't realize how quickly THAT would happen. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nothing is a failsafe, but come on. Like someone's gonna admit "yeah, I missed one a while back" or something! It's much easier to say "OH YEAH! I ALWAYS took them on time. Whoops!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There are also lots of things that can decrease their effectiveness - antibiotics being the biggie, but even things like St. John's Wort are in question.

Even a few hours late would wig me out. Of course, I have taken medication my whole life for allergies, so I'm used to being on a strict schedule. It goes on the dot, to the minute, every morning.

They do generally tell me the truth when there is no reason to lie. At least I'd like to think so. But, that is neither here nor there...point being, generally it is human nature to find it a lot easier to blame a mistake on a 'system failure' rather than admit that you screwed up. Look at someone giving an officer their account of a car accident! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

And seriously, what's the big deal with using condoms for a week or so when you forget a pill/patch?
