Re: British Airways says employees should work for free.

That's the third time I've heard that name come up. Who is this guy? Do you guys really think you have made a good point with a comment like that?
Why are you on a pilot aviation web site again??? If you don't know the name, look it up.

Better yet, here is wiki... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Lorenzo do some reading without the management glasses on, and read it, especially from the TWA and Eastern perspective.

Re: British Airways says employees should work for free.

This has to be the culmination of some kind of wager between Randolph and Mortimer.

Re: British Airways says employees should work for free.

Or a rendezvous between Lorenzo and Ichan. I just don't want to know who the transvestite is.

Re: British Airways says employees should work for free.

I don't like to get my facts from the wikipedia. This thread isn't about Lorenzo but I guess you would prefer airlines to be unprofitable.

Haha. Seriously, I would like the airlines to be profitable. That means charging a fair rate. This does not mean union bashing, which Lorenzo is famous for.

Do some research then come back. Otherwise, you are useless on this forum, and should be considered a management lackee (sp?).

Sorry to get personal, but that is ridiculous that you will not do any research and do not know who you are talking about. He is famous in both pilot and management ranks as a union buster.

Any questions?

LOL it always goes to that. Whenever someone here can't make a point they always end up saying I'm not qualified to offer an opinion and therefore they don't have to defend their statements or sometimes it just goes straight to insults.

Re: British Airways says employees should work for free.

This reminds me of that pamphlet that NWA put out that listed dumpster diving as a way to cope with the pay cuts.

My point is, and was stated as Lorenzo was a union basher. Both sides admit it. Seriously, if you are going to get defensive, at least put some effort into it. 98% of the people on this site know who Lorenzo was and stood for. The rest now have done the research (I assume, but I bet people learned form this). Have you? When you do, we will continue.

If you choose not to actually learn anything from this, then more power to you. Please do not say life is not fair, though....

Re: British Airways says employees should work for free.

Slaves aren't volunteers.

Willie runs a company with a revenue $4,200,000,000 and makes $701,000 a year. That doesn't sound out of line to me.
If all his employees are in line for food stamps, I think he should be considered scum. My opinion only, of course.

How much do you make per year again? Do you want to be like Willie? Good luck in life.

Okay he was a union basher and you guys talk about management like they are the anti-christ. It sounds like you are making the assumption the union is beyond reproach.

There isn't a lot to learn from a thread that turns into a 9 page circle jerk group think session which is how most of these go.

You might want to research my posts. I am no union saint. I AM against mgmgt pulling the golder parachute after a few months of "working hard for $700,000" while the employees take pay cut after pay cut.

Management used to work with the employees. Not any more, so guess what, after all the bankruptcies, they are the scum of the earth. Seriously, welcome to my ignore list. Please, somebody tell me if he ever gets a clue...how old are you again, and what is your degree in????

Dont let this kid get your blood pressure up stone. He's a 22yr old know it all, who doesnt even know or care to know who one of the most famous or infamous names in aviation history is. The fact that he has been called lorenzo three times (his words) and still never bothered to research the guy speaks volumes. Or he is playing possum, and knows exactly who lorenzo is, and relishes being compared to him. Who knows? Who cares?

You ignore people you disagree with and lecture me about ignorance? Could you be more ridiculous?

I never heard Frank Lorenzo discussed before on here. I guessed it was a pop culture reference or something not relevant so I never bothered to look him up until now.

:cwm27: Do some research. Then get back to everybody you have offended at this site.

Have you researched Lorenzo yet? If not, then you are worthy of an ignore...;)

Oh the blood pressure is up, but not over him. I laugh at people who don't bother to do their research.

So let's get this straight.... you are perfectly OK with getting large sums of money to "run a company", causing that company to fail in a manner that either causes the employees to lose their jobs or for them to take paycuts so the company can stay afloat (meanwhile taking no such personal pay cut), OR actually causing the company to fail and walking away with large sums of money, also known as golden parachutes.

A golden parachute is an agreement between a company and an employee (usually upper executive) specifying that the employee will receive certain significant benefits if employment is terminated.

Boy I wish I could get a million bucks if I get fired....

I read his wikipedia page.

Seriously if you only want to hear the rabid anti-managment groupthink that's so pervasive here than you should definitely put me on the ignore list.
