California and other state fire agencies will probably be slow to embrace this new titan. At a cost of $3 million per month, the Supertanker may find itself fighting only the worst fires in the most precious places with the most property at risk.

I used to work for Evergreen, and I was there when they first started the Supertanker project. It was pretty busy the entire summer. They used to do a tour around the US and do demonstrations.

I wonder what the effectiveness is against most California wildfires?

I seem to remember you mentioned that the DC10 that was over Santa Barbara wasn't very efficient or something like that.

Evergreen does a heck of a job on PR. But at 3 million a month, you can get 8 or so of the current operational tankers in service.
