B-36 Peacemaker 360º flightdeck view

"Remember the Analog"! I have a relative who has a six foot wind tunnel model of the B-36
 
I was wondering the same thing.

I was looking for the way in, and if you look closely, you can see that the back panel is not completely finished at the port side. Perhaps there's the (small) entrance.
 
Very Cool. My uncle was a left seater on one. He used to buzz the family farm out in the country with it.
 
Every Saturday morning at KCNU a doctor comes in and drinks coffee at the FBO. He flew these beasts back in the day. Another guy flew " the hump". I could listen to them for hours.

I bet. Crazy world they served in. I can't imagine what taking one of those hogs into Soviet airspace would have involved.

Getting downed by a SAM in the high level tactics of those days; pretty much what did them in as bombers for the USAF, as there was no way they could do a low-level penetration.
 
Guy that flew the hump. His best stories were always about training in Texas somewhere and the trouble they'd get into.

My wife's (recently deceased) grandpa flew those monsters toward the end of his AF career. Started out training students in Stearmans.
 
I bought Magnesium Overcast a couple of years ago and I still intend to read it someday. :P
