Think about the epic battles you could have with groups of pilots all wearing Heelys ! I think I just threw up a little...
If they can get the cost down a bit, I can see this luggage being pretty useful...

It barely fits the jacket, much less a laptop! Granted I fly with a behemoth now, so I can't really talk.

No, because as you try to compact your luggage you can zip it. You can't compress and close with this. I can loosely pack, but I can't cram pack. There is a reason camping backpacks and ruck sacks overseas still rule. There is something to compressing your T-shirts and underwear for travel.
BTW, how many pairs of underwear do you need for a 8 day trip? 2, wear one, wear the other, turn both inside out, wear one, wear the other. Day 5 swap pairs with the FO and repeat.
