I had an interview at AWAC very recently and wanted to post some info about it for those who have one coming up.

Total interview time: approx 25 minutes
Hiring board consisted of the Chief Pilot and one HR rep.

HR questions:
What makes a good captain?
Why AWAC?
Tell me about a time when you disagreed with company policy. What did you do about it?
Why should we hire you?
What are your weaknesses? Strengths?
What did you like most about your previous job? Least?

Tech:
They asked me to finger fly the ILS RW 07 (which was a jepp chart) into Toledo, OH from the feeder to the missed and hold. I think The only other question was about holding speeds and max airspeed for a PT.

That's about it. It was very laid back and at the same time professional. I know it will be a great company to work for. PM me if you have any questions.
 
They offered me the job immediately after the interview, pending a background check. Of all the candidates there, I think they hired all of us.
 
wish Eagle interview was that short lol. I really like AWAC and i have a solid internal rec but i think commuting from OKC or even DFW would just be hell. If i got eagle DFW my QOL would be so much better i think.

I wouldn't worry about one failure. There aren't many people out there who have an unblemished record. This isn't something to brag about, but when I was younger, I got a few underage drinking tickets and I still got hired!

I hope so sir. Reading about fellow JCer's success and realizing that i am this much close to achieving my dream career (income being irrelevant or a different issue) definitely excites me. I cannot fathom the excitement you had when you were offered the position. All in all best of luck, keep us posted :)

I definitely will! Are you racking up the hours? AWAC and Eagle are hiring with 800TT and 100 ME. It seems that they might be coming down some more on the mins too!
 
did they say when a class date might be for you?
I interview jan 6th and was offered the job, got a class date of feb 14th and then last week was told that I would be bumped into one two weeks after perhaps, and I still don't have a concrete date.

They told me that they had to do a background check and would call me in a few weeks with a class date. I have no idea exactly when I will start but they said sometime in March.
 
Got the call today to interview on the 18th. Will be my first 121 airline interview. Time to hit the flash cards.
 
Hypoxic PHL: Let me know how the interview goes and if you are going to get into the March class. If so, PM me. I'd like to coordinate some study sessions during ground school up in lovely Appleton!
 
I'v had my resume on the AWAC site since Nov. I always update it and it still says status not reviewed. How soon did they review the your resume after you submitted it?
