If you want to get them, who cares what anyone else thinks? My flying sunglasses are Serengettis, and they look very dorky. However, the lenses are not polarized and do a great job at bringing out cloud definition. If you like them, and they're practical, why not get them?
My Serengetis are the best pair of glasses I have owned. I like the fact that you can pretty much wear them from dawn to dusk in almost anyt type of weather.

I really want to get a pair for flying so I don't have to worry about keeping track of my other sunglasses in my gearbag, I just think it's a hassle to have to take them in and pull them out after with every flight.
I want to get a pair of Aviators, but I really don't wanna come across as a tool.
What do you guys think when you see people (at the airport...) wearing aviators?
Haha, that's funny. My dad bought me a pair of Rayban aviators as a gift, I had misgivings about wearing them though for the reasons stated. However, they are the best I have come across for keeping out the glare, and not screwing up my vision with cheap lenses. I usually only wear them in the cockpit, and take them off before leaving the flight deck.
I forgot one time and walked into the terminal and got called "Tom Cruise" by a lippy gate agent.![]()
Agreed. 2 pair.. one G15 and one brown. Best I've had. And Serengeti is very good about doing repair work.
