Aviators

If you want to get them, who cares what anyone else thinks? My flying sunglasses are Serengettis, and they look very dorky. However, the lenses are not polarized and do a great job at bringing out cloud definition. If you like them, and they're practical, why not get them?

:yeahthat: My Serengetis are the best pair of glasses I have owned. I like the fact that you can pretty much wear them from dawn to dusk in almost anyt type of weather.

I really want to get a pair for flying so I don't have to worry about keeping track of my other sunglasses in my gearbag, I just think it's a hassle to have to take them in and pull them out after with every flight.

I want to get a pair of Aviators, but I really don't wanna come across as a tool.

What do you guys think when you see people (at the airport...) wearing aviators?

My dad bought me a pair of Rayban aviators as a gift, I had misgivings about wearing them though for the reasons stated. However, they are the best I have come across for keeping out the glare, and not screwing up my vision with cheap lenses. I usually only wear them in the cockpit, and take them off before leaving the flight deck.

I forgot one time and walked into the terminal and got called "Tom Cruise" by a lippy gate agent.:o

Haha, that's funny.

I ended up getting a pair of Ray Ban's with the G15 lense yesterday. They feel great, and I really like the lense.

Can't wait to try them out flying later today. :rawk:

Agreed. 2 pair.. one G15 and one brown. Best I've had. And Serengeti is very good about doing repair work.

Definately. I keep one pair in the car and one in my flight bag. They do great repair work and if they are beyond repair they usually give you a good replacement price that is below what you'll find in the stores.

I picked up a pair of AO aviators off of aircraft spruce for about 50 bucks. They're nice glasses, but it's taken me forever to adjust the nose things so they fit right. They still don't feel as comfortable to wear as the 25 dollar pair of cheapos I had before.
