Aviation Safety education/ career advice

I am currently a Safety Rep, FOD Program Chairman, Environment Compliance Coordinator, Fire Warden, Plane Captain and Mechanic for the Marine Corps at Search&Rescue in Yuma, AZ. I thrive in my field and have received awards for my safety program. I also have my OSHA 10hr Card. I love aviation safety and will be attending the Navy's Aviation Technician School in August. My End of Active Service is in about 20 Months and my goal is to pursue Aviation Safety in the private sector. I have applied and been accepted into Embry Riddle. Is there another school that would look better? How hard would it be to find a career? Is there demand in this field? I have searched for advice and have come up with nothing so any advice would be much appreciated!
 
I'm in a similar position as yourself. Safety certified and all that goes with that. At the moment, you'll find a job pop up here and there but nothing too frequent pertaining to safety. As soon as the FAA decides they're going to require SMS, there will be jobs everywhere looking for people who are not only certified, but have experience implementing and running a successful safety program. The two larger programs I know of who offer certificate courses are ERAU and USC-Viterbi. There are many universities that offer Bachelors and Masters of Safety such as the Univ. of Central MO.
